Building Our City - You can’t have missed the construction on 35W, the 2040 Plan, the Minnehaha Parkway Plan and more. There are a lot of changes and not everyone is happy  while other people have been waiting for a looooong time for them. Join us next Sunday when Fabric-guy, Charles Carlson, who is also Director for BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) Projects with Metro Transit, joins us to share a bigger picture of what’s inside and behind these changes. Hint, it’s not just social policy, it’s about the 3-stranded fabric we’re all woven into. See you at Field School on July 21 and 28! Here’s what we’ll be talking about…

July 21: Building Our City: What Roads & Bridges Are All About - Beep beep! Construction season in MN can leave us frustrated, impatient, and overwhelmed. Add to that the changes that are coming with the updates to 35W, the controversial 2040 Plan, and the Minnehaha Parkway Plan….whoa!! On Sunday, July 21, Charles Carlson and Chris Lillehei will talk about how a three stranded perspective can deepen our relationships with our neighbors and help us weave together a new city and world.

July 28: Building Our City: You are a Cultural Architect - You may not have built one of the downtown skyscrapers, part of the freeway or even designed your own kitchen, but you are shaping the most powerful parts of the city everyday. The people! You are a cultural architect - for better or worse. Joe Davis, poet, vocal artist, thinker and entrepreneur will join us to do music and share thoughts about what it means to be a cultural architect right at home. See you Sunday, July 28!
