What’s Happening for Kids? Shades of Green
One thing you might hear shared frequently around Fabric is “practice when it’s easy”. One of the hardest things for adults to have a healthy relationship with is around money, so let’s give our kids plenty of chances to practice growing a healthy relationship with saving, spending, and sharing money now, so they can grow to be adults with tools and practice seeing money not as a source of shame or stress, but as a tool that can support a meaningful, connected life.
Kids are welcome to check in at the check in table and join parents in the Commons each week for some music and connecting time. Listen for the invitation to head to the gym (K-5th grade) or media center (babies and preschoolers) and room 118 (for middle schoolers) at the welcome to wrestle with these big ideas in kid-friendly and kid-fun ways.
Week 1: What does it mean to care for money?
Week 2: How can we match our values with how we spend?
Week 3: Choices, choices, choices! Even kids can learn about budgeting!
Each week during the Shades of Green series, kids will have the opportunity to take home a kit that has tools and conversation starters around Saving – Spending – Sharing our resources.
