Practice Makes Progress

We live in a culture that tells us: if you can’t do it perfectly, don’t do it at all. So we either burn ourselves out chasing perfection, or give up and disengage. But what if that’s exactly backwards? What if the real work of growing as people, of following Jesus, and of making change in the world happens through imperfect, everyday practice? This July at the Falls, we’ll explore how small, steady practices shape us for love, courage, justice, and joy… even when we feel anything but “perfect.”

July 6 | Practicing Imperfection - We live in a world that either demands perfection or tempts us toward disengagement. But what if the real invitation is to show up, as we are: unfinished, learning, in-progress? This week, we’ll explore the myth of perfection and start imagining what progress would feel like instead. July 13 | Practicing Bringing it All - What we practice, we become. From everyday acts of kindness to intentional habits of listening, generosity, and reflection, our imperfect efforts shape us and ripple outward into the world. This week, we’ll reflect on how small, steady practices can lead to real transformation. WATCH | PODCAST | SUNDAY PAPER | GROUP GUIDE

July 27 | Practicing Mess-Blessing - In a divided world, too many of us avoid difficult conversations out of fear of “getting it wrong.” But growth happens in the tension. August 3 | Practicing Being the Change - Faith isn’t about mastering the right beliefs or achieving moral perfection. It’s about practicing love, justice, and humility in real time— over and over again. As we close this series, we’ll reflect on how imperfect practice can make us the kind of people this world needs.
