Summer Sundays for KIDS…

Summer is a time for families to try on and practice being All Together!  We want kids to feel welcome, comfortable, and expected in the gatherings. Minnehaha Falls is a perfect space for all ages! When we are All Together we get to share experiences and learn in different ways. Each gathering will have something for everyone. Kids are invited to begin by creating some chalk messages and art in front and in the walk ways. Make sure to join in the singing and then listen for invitations for the littles (2-6 year olds) to head to Nature Camp and for older kids to engage with the big ideas in ways that are fun and creative. Want to know more? CALLING ALL LITTLES: Join Nature Camp! “From little seeds grow mighty trees”. Starting July 2 Fabric will be offering a kids nature camp! This will allow your saplings to dig in to the wonders of nature, seed between the lines of the messages, all while getting a little twiggle on. Okay, we admit, that was all a bit mulch, but we are so excited to wonder and awe at the world around us. Nature camp will be geared toward ages 2-6, but older kiddos are invited to “help” with some of the projects we’ll be exploring. Keep your eyes out for a sign-up sheet at upcoming gatherings. Questions? Email Jen!

Tips for kids and families gathering All Together

  • Use the tools! Each week there will be something for kids to help draw them into the message.

  • Sit together as a family! It might seem like a good idea to have kids all in one area, but that makes it hard for them to follow along and as we are still managing Covid, it is better to sit as a family bubble.

  • Music is universal! Everyone can stand up and get your groove on!

  • Set some intentions and boundaries before you come. How do you want to show up as a family?

  • Get involved! Let us know on your communication card if you are interested in being a Sunday Paper passer-outer, part of a demonstration, or ???

  • Be patient and expect some extra noise and wiggles! It is good thing to remember that our community includes all ages!

  • You can also watch the gathering via the livestream from the Nest when you little one needs to really move around and get their wiggles out! (geared for kids 6 months – 3 years together with a parent)
